Learn about Troop 457
TROOP 457 / SCOUTS BSA
Troop 457 is a diverse and inclusive troop. We accept and encourage membership and participation of Scouts and Adult Leaders of all races, colors, national origins, sexual orientations, religions, and disabilities.
HISTORY & GOALS
Founded in 1952 as a troop dedicated to helping boys develop into well-rounded citizens with a love for nature, country, and a sense of commitment to serving their fellow man. To achieve these goals, Troop 457 strives to maintain an active program that emphasizes citizenship, service to the community, outdoor activities, physical fitness, leadership skills, camraderie and fun.
ADULT LEADERSHIP
The Troop's adult leaders are all parents and volunteers. The Troop adheres strictly to the BSA guidelines for youth protection. The Troop continues to grow and thrive from the involvement of new parents. Just ask any of the current Troop leaders how you can get involved.
SCOUT ADVANCEMENT AND LEADERSHIP
The advancement program of scouting reinforces the goals of the Troop and BSA. Along with advancement comes the opportunity and expectation that a scout will assume a leadership role within the Troop.
OUTDOOR PROGRAM
It has been said that 2/3 of scouting is Outing and if you ask the boys what they enjoy the most about Scouts, they universally will say "the campouts!" The Troop has an active program which strives to keep activities exciting for Scouts of all ages. Summer camp is one of the highlights of any boy's adolescence, a tremendous opportunity for fun, fellowship and outdoor skills building.
